How To Choose A Hosting Company | Post 3

Your Going To Need A Domain Name And A Hosting Company | Post 3

If you're just starting out you may want to experiment with using Blogger to host your blog.

It's free to use and is owned by Google. I'm testing it out here on this blog.

As far as a domain name is concerned, it should match up with the basic idea of your blog.

If it's recipes then "tastytreats.com" for instance. I have a Domain Name I'm working on called "howtoconcealedcarry.com" and is dedicated to how to safely protect yourself with or
without the use of firearms. Try to get as close relationship to your Niche/Domain name os you can.

Bluehost vs WP Engine

Blue host is a favorite among lots of bloggers and you can also get a free domain name when you sign up. They advertise as low as $2.75 a month for a hosting plan but there is a slight catch and I'll explain: Here are some benefits to consider.
  • ">FREE Domain
  • ">FREE Site Builders
  • ">1-Click WordPress
  • ">24/7 Support
So here is the two plans you may want to consider. There is a third but unless you're a large business these two will work just fineThe basic plan you get only one website.

It's been my experience that once ideas start to flow when blogging you'll come up with more you'll want to write about. That's why I suggest the Plus plan with unlimited websites, storage, email accounts, sub-domains...you get what I mean!

So it states $4.95 a month but, that's when you pay for a full 3 year plan, as I understand it. You may be looking at an up front cost of around $178.00 as shown here. $4.95x36 months.

As far as getting starting in business for yourself that's still not a big overhead cost.

The other WordPress hosting service I recommend is WP Engine. Here is a link to what makes Come see what makes WP Engine different than other hosting companies (the full scoop).
As you can well see WP Engine is a more expensive platform. Here is comparison of both uptime ratings:

As it shows, Bluehost had a few glitches in a 7 day test. if that makes a big difference in your blogging efforts WPengine came ahead by a couple of % points. You decide.

So that does it for hosting. I hope I've helped you make the best choice for hosting your blog.
